Nick Walker is one of the world’s best-known street artists emerging from the infamous and groundbreaking Bristol graffiti scene of the early 1980s.

Walker is known for his dystopian science fiction imagery which developed from his love of films like Blade Runner and the visions of 2000AD. Credited as introducing stencil-graffiti to Bristol, Walker’s street art influenced the work of renowned graffiti artist Banksy as well as attracting the attention of film director Stanley Kubrick and the band the Black Eyed Peas.

With the backing of such high profile artists Walkers move from street art to the canvases on the gallery walls seemed as natural as it was inevitable. His limited edition prints and paintings draw on the energy and imagery of graffiti but succeed in creating highly sophisticated and intricate stencil artworks. Exhibiting all over the world, his paintings are now highly prized – in 2006 a spray painted work titled Moona Lisa sold for an unexpected £54,000 at Bonhams in London.
