The Russian artist and architect Leonid Sologub landed, after he fled from St.Petersburg during te revolution in 1919, by accident in The Hague.

Due to his international contacts they offered him the studio from the artist Philippe Zilcken which just came free to involve.

This studio was located at the southern part of the royal palace Het Loo, beside the district called Bezuidenhout.

Not only here Sologoud found his artistic subjects for his paintings. He made many international trips as well, such as to Capri Italy in 1926
